Hello, my name is Tanja and I am working as an animal trainer trainee at the WSC since July 2021. When I decided to study biology, it was always my desire to work with wolves at the WSC. However before I came to biology at all I worked in accounting for a few years after graduating from business school. But with time I felt an increasing urge to make a change and after a lot of thinking I decided to study biology at the University of Vienna. I chose zoology as my major because animals have interested me since childhood and I wanted to learn more about the exciting kingdom of animals. Not long before I graduated, I discovered the job advertisement that the WSC was looking for animal trainer trainees and I applied for it without hesitation.
Already on my trial day I was allowed to get to know some animals and I was incredibly enthusiastic. It was clear to me: I definitely want to work here! Full of impatience I waited for a response until I finally received the relieving call. I still can't believe my luck and am looking forward to the exciting time that lies ahead of me here at the WSC.
