The backbone of the WSC
The Wolf Science Center (WSC) was founded in 2008 by Zsófia Virányi, Friederike Range and Kurt Kotrschal in Grünau in Upper Austria. In 2009 the WSC moved to Ernstbrunn in Lower Austria.
Since the founding the WSC has developed into an internationally renowned research station.
In order to guarantee the high quality of work with the constantly growing number of visitors, personnel and partners, the Wolf Science Center is since April 2017 a part of the Veterinary University of Vienna.
Our science is planned and carried out through the research group "Domestication Lab" and our visitor programs through the "Wolfsforschungszentrum GmbH". The care for our animals and all the animal-human contacts are in the safe hands of our trainer team.
