Anna Lippold
Intern

My name is Anna, and I am studying Cognitive Science at the University of Osnabrück. As I approach the end of my bachelor’s degree, I have the exciting opportunity to complete my internship at the Wolf Science Center – finally getting to contribute directly to research projects in animal cognition.
I discovered my passion for animal behavior during a course on animal cognition at university. Since then, I have been fascinated by the question of how animals think and act. Because my studies often lacked hands-on experience, I actively searched for a way to connect theory with practice – and found the perfect place at the Wolf Science Center.
Animals have always been a part of my life: I grew up with dogs, and in 2021 I got my very first puppy. This experience sparked my interest in species-appropriate nutrition, which led to opening a BARF shop with my family in 2023 and completing training as certified BARF consultants. This knowledge about the deep connection between wolves and dogs now also enriches my scientific work.
During my internship, I am especially looking forward to contributing to experimental setups and data analysis, as well as experiencing direct interactions with the wolves. I am excited to gain insights into the daily work of researchers and animal caretakers and to collect many new experiences in nature.
