Geronimo is handsome, and he knows it too. The dream of every wolf photographer!

He is also called "Sir Geronimo" by his godparents and his human colleagues at the WSC.

He is very guarded and distant to strangers but likes to be scratched by his trainers for hours. Due to his strong leadership abilities, he is clearly the boss.

... appearance

Geronimo is a beautiful, large wolf with the perceived "typical" facial markings. He has become a little lighter over the years, but he is still the prime example of an American Grey Wolf, with its grey markings on the head and back.

... with conspecifics

Geronimo has become a very sovereign leader of his pack. Unlike other bosses, he does not need to constantly clarify his position. That's what makes him a very pleasant leader, and even "difficult" wolves, like Kenai and Wamblee could find a good home with him. Both were insecure and anxious when dealing with other adult males: when they felt cornered, they snapped at their counterpart. In such situations, Geronimo is exceptionally generous and simply ignores this behaviour. However, should another claim "his" female and push it too far, then he will prevail in setting boundaries.

... while learning and interacting with us

In his work as a research partner Geronimo is cooperative and successful. He seems to be very intelligent but shows little patience when something does not go as he imagined.

To the people he knows, he is as trusting as he is shy to strangers. He likes to sniff our hair and ears and nudges us with his big snout.

... with strangers and objects

He is extremely cautious with strangers and seldom willing to contact them. Unfortunately, this got worse as he got older. It seems that he thinks that with his current age, he can let the others do the work. ;-)

He is usually very open-minded and curious about foreign objects and often tries to explore them with his teeth.

... in puppy age

Geronimo was our little Rambo. He cried until someone fed him and protested loudly when he was awakened due to carelessness. On the other hand, he was also the first who sought physical contact with Bea, one of our former trainers, to sleep near us human beings.
