Our second female in the pack and the sister of Aragorn. Shima is the most cooperative one with us humans. She loves to participate in training sessions and experiments, and is always the first entering the test-room as soon as we open the door. She is working highly concentrated and attentive; she wants to figure out what we expect from her. She has learned the most tricks - she learns very quick and effective.

Besides she is a real wolf, often getting scared by strangers or new objects and situations. Only after a while she collects her courage and takes a closer look at them (but often she remains behind our back, and comes only close while following us). She is the one, where you often see how much security her hand-raisers give her in new situations. She is rarely exploring new objects or persons, but as soon as one of us is going there, she suddenly becomes more self-secure and curious and comes to explore with us.

She loves going for a walk, but only if we do not go in company of a film team or other guests.

But while we give her security, it is also important for her to have her independence. You cannot force her to do anything and if something does not fit, she will let us know immediately with a growl.

The first impression (May 2008)

Would she be one of those wolves our ancestors would have chosen to begin domestication with?

She really enjoys being in human hands and can fight long to climb out from the basket leaving her peers behind.

She was the first one to open her eyes.

With 6 months (Oktober 2008)

Shima is wonderful, tame, and unproblematic. She responds well when called and is fond of working.

She is attentive and a very fast learner which makes it difficult sometimes to work with her. First, because she gets bored easily and second, after 1-2 times she knows exactly what is going on. She also gets the others to do all kind of silly things like opening the food storage room.

Otherwise, she really likes to be petted and searches for human contact.
