Rafiki is the calmest dog, he adapts to any new situation quite quickly and loves sitting down and just staring no matter what the situation. He will even just sit himself down in the water and look around while the other three try to swim and splash around. He is the most dominant of the dogs, but is subtle with his position and does not get involved too much when the others fight. When there is food, a single growl from him is usually enough to get the other three to lay down and wait until he is full and allows them to eat. Even Alika leaves him alone and waits patiently. He is a very relaxed dog and thus very nice to have on the leash and is fun to work with. The only problem is that he is too relaxed sometimes and so full that he has little motivation to work with the touch screen as soon as he fails once by picking the wrong object he gives up and goes to take a nap in the corner.

Rafiki and his sister Alika are pure balls of energy! Most of all they like to bear down one of their playmates and keep them in check together.

From the beginning on Rafiki was one of the biggest and strongest puppies and rolled down everything that came amiss. He was more or less a Rambo on 4 legs.

In the meanwhile Rafi became much calmer and even plays more thoughtful with his little mates like Uzima. Rafiki, who looked quite unshapely in the beginning, because of his much too small head on a much too big body, has become the right proportions. Also Rafi always has a positive attitude towards novel things. No matter what it is about, Rafi and his sister Alika alre always among the first ones, if it comes to the point to discover something new.

What the frizzy, black ball of wool distinguishes from his “better half”, is his much more sensible character. While Alika can’t be thrown that easy out off her course, Rafiki can timidly withdraw into a corner when he feels uncomfortable in a certain situation, especially in the presence of unfamiliar persons. But if he is in a good mood, everybody – no matter whether bipeds or four-legged friends – will be welcome friendly and ebulliently and will be licked from top to bottom.

In general Rafi is a docile contemporary that acquieces in a lot from his conspecifics, but most of all from his sister. Rafikis most preferred position may be lying on the back. Very often you can see him calmly lying on the back snapping against his playing mates during play while they try to draw him out. Also during sleep Rafi prefers the lying on his the back. Another example for this preference is when you start petting him, his first reaction is to turn on the back in order to enjoy the stroke units.

Obviously Rafis’ most preferred occupation is to chase the dust mop. This can be a real challenge because Rafi is very fast when he wants to get the fringes between his teeth. Insistently he fastens onto the fringes and simply doesn’t want to release them anymore. Frequently one swabs the floor more likely with Rafiki himself than with the dust mop =O)
