Diary entry, 11.05.2011, Stephanie Rathier
I have just arrived here at the Wolf Science Centre where I am starting my doctoral thesis on cooperative hunting in grey wolves.
My first encounter with the WSC wolves was an extraordinary experience. These are magnificent animals and I am very eager to begin working with them all. Perhaps the most striking feature of these wolves is the contrast between their sheer power as predators and their inclination, as hand-raised individuals, to interact socially with people. I am much impressed by the trust existing between them, the researchers and the trainers. With time I hope to gain their trust as well.
