On Monday, again there was a photo shooting. About 10 people were excited to meet our wolves and to make pictures without a fence. Despite the bad weather in the last few days there was luckily no rain. However the conditions to take pictures were not the best, because with sun the photos will be more beautiful.
As a special highlight on the photo shootings the wolves get feed. The people get the possibility to take pictures of the wolves in action. This time we came up with something special. The game park got more than 100 chickens donated and we also got some of them, so we made surprise bags for the wolves. A jute sack full of straw with one chicken per wolf in it. For the “black” pack there were no questions, with a few strong bites they ripped the sack apart and everybody ran away with its chicken. The “ white” or “american” pack needed longer for this and first just looked sceptical at the strange new thing in their enclosure. But then Yukon took over and defended the sack against her pack members.
The second big event this week was the moving of Wapi and Kenai and the two dog packs. Two of our new enclosures next to the “Sikadeer” enclosures are ready. Wapi and Kenai moved today into their new final home. And how it looks, they feel pretty well in there respectively they found something interesting. Because after a few hours we checked on them and our brightest wolves weren't white-grey anymore they were partly green. Now we ask ourselves what did they do in the time we left them alone and where did they roll in???
The big dog pack can also move on Friday next to Wapi and Kenai and explore their new home. There are also news for Kilio and Meru, they can move from the lonely “kitchengarden” next to the castle into the puppy raising enclosure where they will be closer to us and where they will have contact with the new dog pups which are coming in the middle/end of September to us.
