News about Cherokee:
„Ohhh, here comes the pretty one!“ is what we usually hear from visitor groups standing in front of Cherokees enclosure. Also: „Why is there a white wolf among the black ones?“
All of our wolves are Timberwolves, what means that they come in different colors, even though they’re also called „American Greywolves“. Cherokee and Apache are siblings, although Cherokee is tall and almost white, while Apache is smaller and has black-grey colored fur. The colors have nothing to signify. Nevertheless it is true that Cherokee, with his long slender legs and the black „kajal stroke“ around the eyes, looks very charming.
Unfortunately, our Cherokee is an epileptic and because of his illness he is the last one in his pack’s ranking. Despite his peculiarities, he’s well tolerated by the others though.
Cherokee at 7 weeks of age:
Despite his size (he is younger and smaller than the older four) he can be quite angry if someone reduces his individual liberty or if food is involved. Without inhibition he rebukes the bigger ones, and they surprisingly accept this. Cherokee is easily startled and he and Apache need a little bit more time to become used to new situations and to unknown persons. He can also be very gentle and sweet, especially when he is playing with us. In this moment he shows how cute a wolf puppy can be.

There is not much to tell about our new pups yet - only one thing is sure: they take a lot of time for everything! And they like sleeping in very close body contact! Let's see how that develops!
