Our biggest wolf, the brother of Shima. He has a very confident and sovereign personality.
During puppyhood, he used to have rage attacks, especially if we wanted to take something from him which he has stolen before. But he stopped with this and now he became a really calm and self-secure wolf. His peace is adorable, only few things can bring him out of his calm attitude.
With his hand raisers he is very nice, often comes to us just to be petted. He is always very attentive to things going on in the enclosure and, usually after Taya, he is the second to greet new persons or to take food from them.
His favorite activity is going for a walk. As soon as he sees the leash in our hands, he runs to the gate and holds his head for us to put on the collar.
He is also a great fan of training sessions or experiments, often kicks the door to get in, not waiting for us to open it for him.
Although he is not the dominant one at the moment, he manages to chase away every other member of the pack from his food. If he once got his food, no one can take it away from him. Usually the others do not even try any more.
The only problem he causes, when managing to steal something. If the stolen item (gloves, cell-phones or buckets) is valuable enough for him, he is not willing to give it back, only after getting all kind of treats we have, he gives it back - maybe. Actually he is the only one from the four who tries to steal objects that do not smell like food. He guarded his favorite ball several days from the others, not letting anybody else play with it.
The first impression (May 2008)
The lazy, unflappable and strong Big Brother.
Full with physical and mental resources, difficult to wake up, difficult to disturb.
Unhurried even when starting feeding: the last one who accepted the bottle.
But if once decided to act it is hard to resist his weight and power. And if nobody jumps to do is bidding, he can loudly protest!
With 6 months (October 2008)Aragorn, as always, is self-confident, playful, and completely relaxed. He still walks like a big pup!
He comes when called and is, in contrast to Kaspar, keenly interested in novelty. He is calm, likes to work with us and his sudden attacks of rage (he is a hot blooded young man) have disappeared.
In regard to food he is a bit picky, but he always likes a nice pet.
