Meanwhile, the adult Apache lives together with his brother Cherokee and Kaspar, Aragorn and Shima in so-called “black pack”.
Apache is our little “crocodile”. All the other wolves easily take the food with a pointy muzzle from the trainers’ fingers. Only Apache takes the whole hand. He is very careful, yet nothing less than a whole hand is enough for him. Also, he eats objects that he’s not supposed to; therefore we all need to take extra care to ensure that everything is fine in his enclosure.

Apache with 7 weeks of age:

He is our smallest puppy. But he is not helpless at all. He is able to defend his property. When another puppy is approaching him while he is sitting on our lap and playing with us he is even defending us strongly - of course he is as well defending his food very intensively. Because of his strong attacks the older ones often hesitate to eat next to him. Sometimes of course the others repay him everything. Like Cherokee he is a bit restrained and he needs time to accustom to new persons.

Apache was a bit distant in the beginning and did not like human contact all that much - sleeping was better. This has changed however, and now he really likes contact and drinking out of the bottle. But it took some time, until he got to that point!
