Wolf Park, Indiana, USA. Today we Friederike, Zsofi and me Helene, arrived at Wolf Park in Indiana, USA. I am going to stay here for three month to do some experiments. Zsofi and Friederike will stay here until next week and together with the Wolf Park crew we will organize how to run the experiments.
Wolf Park was founded in 1972 by Dr. Erich Klinghammer. They raised their wolves by hand and can work with them very well. They go into the enclosure can even separate one wolf from others and work with them. We saw them working with them and it was very nice to see how relaxed the animals were and how long they participated, at least these we have seen.
Their oldest female is almost 17 years old but still feels quite well.
The area is very nice and quiet. There are a lot of other animals here. In enclosures they have foxes, coyotes and buffalos and around the Park there are lots of birds and squirrels and for sure a lot of other animals which we have not seen right now. Furthermore the people are very friendly and open-minded.
I am looking forward to work together with this people and with their wolves the next few months.
