In April 2011 it had been the first time I came to the WSC with all my anticipations to new experiences, to new people …
On May 13th Zsofi and Friederike came in our apartment carrying four 10-day old wolf pups, a microwave and some buckets of Royal Canin puppy milk under their arms. Until this moment, I had thought that I would be only marginally involved with the project. However, that changed drastically on that evening: feeding the pups with the bottle, stimulating them to pee and to poop led to a surprisingly strong bond to the pups.
Since the wolves are in Grünau, I only see them once in a while on a weekend helping with the experiments, playing with the wolves and taking them for walks in- and outside the park. A great change for a guy working in the IT business like me. I guess my most important part for the project and the wolf care is that I increase the male quota by 100%!
