The WSC was founded in 2008 at the Konrad Lorenz Forschungsstelle (KLF) in Grünau/Upper Austria, but moved one year later to Ernstbrunn in Lower Austria. At the moment the support of the KLF results in sharing the working hours of the leader Kurt Kotrschal with the WSC.

The group office and the library at the WSC are equipped with suspended direct/indirect luminaires with specular louvre from RIDI. The applied lighting concept "Raumbezogene Beleuchtung“ provides a screen compatible, ergonomic and photometrically high-class illumination. Thus the results of our research can be analyzed and discussed at the best!
The single workstations in the living/working rooms of the students and guest scientists in the institute building are equipped with equipped with suspended, screen compatible direct/indirect luminaires from PHILIPS. Thus the single workstation is also optimally supplied with an ergonomic and photometrically high-class illumination.
The corridors and stairways of the WSC institute are illuminated with the highly innovative, design oriented LED-wall lights from RZB. Thus the high competence of the here working scientist is pointed out already in entering the building.
The dog house and its testing rooms, its food kitchen and its corridors is lightened by pivoted and adjustable moisture-proof luminaires from PRACHT. The illumination-level, i.e. the brightness in the rooms, can be adjusted by buttons as needed.
The ceiling downlights from TECNOLIGHT complement the general illumination in the kitchen and the rooms for students and guests of the WSC institue. They are also an economic solution in the lower floor.
Two historical style light column from HAHN-LICHT illuminate the street- and entrance area in front of the WSC institute, the former forester's house of the Princes Reuss. They perfectly fall into line with the style of the building.
The achitectural very elegant outdoor wall lights from HESS also fall down into line with the style of the WSC institut building. The illuminate the surrounding balconies and the entrance areas. The entrance area of the WSC testing building and of the puppy house in the wildpark are equipped with these first-class wall lights as well.
The powertrack-mounted spotlights from ZUMTOBEL, complement the illumination in the library and in the shop room of the WSC institute by targeted beaming of book shelves, posters or fan articles.
These well designed and sophisticated spotlights are also installed in the seminar room of the WSC testing building and there complete the smartness of the room.
The suspended direct/indirect luminaires with specular louvre from SEMPERLUX bright and friendly illuminate the living-, dining- and kitchen-area of the students and guests in the WSC institute. Thus internal students' discussions can take place in the very best light.
The puppy house as well as the food kitchen and the storage rooms of the large WSC testing building are brightly illuminated by the solid moisture-proof luminaires from LUDWIG.
The floodlightst from SCHMIDT-STRAHL are excellently suited for the illuminations of the puppy outdoor-enclosure. They are especially used for the - several times a year performed - wolf presentations at the "Howl Nights". Howl nights are night-time events for for everybody and while barbecueing sausages and stick bread at the campfire wolf tales are narrated and afterwards the scientists of the WSC "present" their big wolves in the pictureseque surroundings.
The solid spotlights from SILL are used for the forefield illumination of the dog house. Thus also the dogs can be fed and watch in the darkness.
The large as well as the four smaller testing rooms inside the WSC testing building are illuminated by pivoted moisture-proof specular reflectors from NORKA. Since these rooms are equipped with TV-cameras und the large room additionally can be watched by visitor through half-mirrored windows, a very high illumination level has to be provided.
The screen suitable illumination of the seminar room in the upper floor of the WSC testing building is based on suspended direct/indirect luminaires from SITECO. The downside with siilcate glass sealed lights enhance the smart impression of the room.
For the signposting of the emergency exits in the WSC testing building back-lit safety sings from WILLING are used. These signs are mounted in the staircase in the upper floor and at both exit doors in the ground floor.
The illumination of the corridors and the sanitary rooms in the WSC testing building is realized by ceiling downlight from A.L.S.
Wodka Eristoff are VIP-patrons of our beautiful Tala Eristoff!
And that not without a reason: Sind hundred of years the wolf is part of the russian culture and thus important for the origin of the Eristoff-family. In Georgia/Europe the wolf is worshiped until today and can live there in the wild.
