Nachwuchspreis der American Psychological Association (APA) an Dr. Friederike Range, Leiterin des Wolf Science Centers in Ernstbrunn und Wissenschaftler an der Universität für Veterinärmedizin

Dr. Friederike Range, Wissenschaftlerin an der Universität für Veterinärmedizin und eine der Leiterinnen des „Clever Dog Lab“ Wien und des „Wolfsforschungszentrums“ Ernstbrunn wurde der renommierte „Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution to Psychology“ auf dem Gebiet vergleichende Ansätze zu Lernen und Verhalten verliehen. Damit reiht sich Dr. Range in die Star-Riege der Psychologie ein, vor ihr bekamen diesen Preis etwa S. Pinker oder N. Chomsky.

Wir sind stolz und glücklich und sicher, dass ein wenig vom Glanz auf jene Institutionen abfallen wird, in denen Dr. Friederike Range bislang tätig war, die Universität Wien, die Konrad Lorenz Forschungsstelle in Grünau, die Veterinärmedizinische Universität Wien, das Clever Dog Lab und das Wolfsforschungszentrum im niederösterreichischen Ernstbrunn.

Die Vorsitzende des Scientific Award Committees der APA schrieb:
Dr. Friederike Range has been selected as one of the recipients of the 2012 American Psychological Association (APA) Distinguished Scientific Award for Early Career Contribution to Psychology in the area of animal learning and behavior, comparative. The Committee on Scientific Awards declared a tie for the Early Career Award in this area. You will share the award with Laurie Santos, PhD, who is at Yale University. As the history of this award indicates, it is an outstanding accolade for scientific achievement.

The awards ceremony will be held at the APA Convention in Orlando, Florida, August 2-5, 2012. Dr Range is also invited to attend the annual reception hosted by the Board of Scientific Affairs (BSA) and the Science Directorate. In addition, you may have an opportunity to serve as chair and introduce one of the 2012 recipients of the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award at their awards address or introduce one of the 2012 Master Lecturers.
